COMMENTS OF WEAK PAIRS

One caveat exists for both these situations. I’m not trying to give you hard and fast poker rles here.

How to play these poker hands depends entirely on the kinds of hands your opponents are likely to have and how they are likely to play them.

What I’ve tried to illustrate is that these hands can be moneymakers if you’re careful and adjust your strategy to the specific game conditions.

They do have to be played carefully, and often it is best just to fold them.

I’ve tried to give you some general gambling guidelines for how to adjust your play of weak pairs with ragged flops.

In general you should be more passive in tight games and more aggressive in loose games

Before you decide what to do in the game, you need to analyze your game.

What kinds of hands do the players in your poker game play? How do they play those hands?

It’s common to think that a weak pair is probably beaten if there is a large field of active hands.

That’s true if the game is fairly tight and there just happens to be many active hands this hand, but if the game is just generally loose, then you’re likely to be called by all kinds of hands that can’t beat even your weak pair. Plan your play accordingly.
